The External Director Candidate Recommendation Committee of KB Kookmin Bank held a meeting on the 6th, selecting four external director candidates. Among them, Senior Researcher Rian Tae-hoon from the Korea Institute of Finance was nominated as a new external director candidate with a two-year term.

External directors are independent experts outside of the company’s management, typically providing independent and professional judgment in decision-making processes. The nominated candidate, Rian, is considered a suitable choice to help protect consumer rights and build a trustworthy financial environment due to his deep understanding of financial consumers and extensive experience.

Additionally, three current external directors—Moon Soo-fook, Kim Sung-jin, and Lee Jung-sook—were recommended as candidates for reappointment with a one-year term, and are expected to participate in bank operations again based on their experience. Their final appointment will be decided by a vote at the upcoming regular shareholders’ meeting on the 25th of this month.

This recommendation of external director candidates aims to enhance the bank’s transparency and credibility, which could send positive signals to the financial market and consumers. Moving forward, KB Kookmin Bank is expected to continue strengthening its role as a trusted financial partner.
