Recently, I found out how much a soldier in the Mexican Army earns, and honestly, I was surprised. A basic soldier earns around 18,840 pesos per month, but the interesting part is that there are ranks where the annual income exceeds one million pesos.

To join the Army, you need to study at the Military Education System, and there are several options: the Heroic Military College offers bachelor's degrees in military administration and public security, as well as specialties in medicine, engineering, and aviation. Salaries increase with each rank: a corporal earns 19,548 pesos, sergeants between 20 and 21 thousand, and the scale continues upward.

What really catches attention is how much a soldier earns when reaching higher ranks. A colonel earns about 91,000 pesos per month, a lieutenant colonel around 62,000, and at the general level, the figures are much larger. A division general earns 133,503 pesos monthly, which exceeds 1.6 million annually. A brigadier general earns approximately 122,000 per month.

In addition to the base salary, military personnel receive quite good benefits: a 40-day Christmas bonus, a 20-day vacation premium, a compensation of over 2,000 pesos, a technical allowance that adds 40 percent extra, a food allowance between 1,515 and 1,640 pesos, and transportation of 985 pesos. So, how much a soldier in the Mexican Army actually earns is much more than just the monthly salary when you add all the benefits.
