Beijing Electric Vehicle Blue Valley Announcement! New Chairman Takes Office

Recently, BAIC Blue Valley New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “BAIC Blue Valley”) announced that it has received written resignation reports from several senior executives. Among them, Zhang Guofu applied to resign from positions including Chairman of the Board and Chair of the Strategic Committee of the Board due to work adjustments; after resigning, he will no longer hold any positions in the company. Liu Guanqiao, due to work adjustments, will no longer serve as Manager but will remain a director of the company. Song Jun will no longer serve as Employee Director, Executive Deputy Manager, or Financial Director. On the same day, BAIC Blue Valley held a board meeting, during which it approved the election of Liu Guanqiao as the new Chairman of the Board and approved the appointment of Song Jun as the company’s General Manager.

Zhang Guofu was born in July 1977, graduated from Beijing Institute of Technology with a major in Project Management, and has held positions at BAIC Foton, Beijing Haina Chuan Automotive Parts, BAIC Motor Research Institute, and BAIC Off-road Vehicles. After 2019, Zhang Guofu served successively as Deputy Party Secretary and Executive Deputy General Manager of Beijing Automotive Group Off-road Vehicle Co., Ltd., Deputy Party Secretary and Executive Vice President of BAIC Motor Co., Ltd., General Manager of BAIC Off-road Vehicle Co., Ltd., Executive Director of BAIC Blue Valley Marketing and Service Co., Ltd., and Deputy Manager of BAIC Blue Valley New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. In July 2024, Zhang Guofu was promoted from Deputy General Manager to General Manager, and also served as Party Secretary of BAIC Blue Valley. From March 2025, he will serve as Chairman of the company.

It is understood that Zhang Guofu will go to Beijing Automotive to serve as Chairman. On March 20, Beijing Automotive announced that due to work changes, Wang Hao will no longer serve as Chairman, Executive Director, Chair of the Strategic and Sustainable Development Committee of the Board, or Chair of the Nomination Committee of the Board. The Beijing Automotive Board of Directors recommended appointing Zhang Guofu as a non-executive director. If the shareholders’ meeting approves Zhang Guofu as a non-executive director, further proposals will be made to nominate him as Chairman.

Liu Guanqiao was born in December 1979, graduated from Tsinghua University with a major in Business Administration, and holds a graduate degree. Since 2002, Liu Guanqiao has worked in sales management at Southeast Motor, SAIC Volkswagen, Beijing Hyundai, and has served as Deputy Director of the Business and Management Department of BAIC Group. In July 2024, Liu Guanqiao was transferred from Director of the Business and Management Department of BAIC Group to Vice President of BAIC Blue Valley, overseeing marketing. In March 2025, after Zhang Guofu was promoted to Chairman, Liu Guanqiao was also promoted from Vice President to General Manager.

BAIC Blue Valley’s main brands include Jihu Auto and Xiangjie Auto, with Jihu being the primary source of sales. The Jihu brand mainly targets the mainstream market priced between 100,000 to 300k yuan, and has launched models such as S5, T5, S6, T6, Koala/Koala S. On March 1, the new Jihu Alpha S5 was pre-sold, offering six models with pre-subsidy prices ranging from 112,800 to 173.8k yuan. The new Alpha S5 adds an extended-range power system based on the existing pure electric version to meet more user needs. Additionally, Jihu Auto officially announced its new product series “Wen Dao” on February 9, with the first high-end MPV named Wen Dao V9.

According to the latest production and sales data released by BAIC Blue Valley, in February, new energy vehicle sales reached 7,364 units, an 18.26% year-on-year increase. Although the overall volume is not large, achieving growth in February is considered a good performance. Looking at the longer timeline, BAIC Blue Valley’s cumulative sales for the first two months reached 15,437 units, a 14.81% increase year-on-year.
