ME News message: On April 11 (UTC+8), Iran’s Islamic Assembly speaker Kalibaf will hold talks with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz that day to determine the timing and format of negotiations between Iran and the United States. In addition, during the talks, the Iranian side will raise the issue of the United States violating its commitments with the Pakistani Prime Minister. The prerequisites to kick off the negotiations include unfreezing Iranian assets and a ceasefire in Lebanon. The U.S. has already informed Pakistan that it agrees to these prerequisites and some other conditions for starting the negotiations. The Iranian delegation plans to assess the U.S. position and whether it has fulfilled its commitments during the talks, before deciding whether to negotiate with the U.S. side. In another report, Tasnim News Agency said that if Iran and the U.S. can hold negotiations, the current plan is for the talks to begin later on April 11 and they may last only one day.
