Abstract generation in progress

On March 24, 2026, chip giant STMicroelectronics issued a price increase letter to customers, announcing that it would raise prices for multiple product lines starting from April 26, 2026.

STMicroelectronics explained that with a significant increase in semiconductor demand from various industries, many material suppliers are charging allocation fees or raising prices. These measures have led to rising costs, and the business terms for maintaining material supply have become more stringent. Additionally, there are rising costs associated with energy and transportation, as well as increased costs for securing capacity from foundries and outsourced semiconductor assembly and testing (OSAT) suppliers. Given this situation, a price increase has become necessary.
