The Blue House of South Korea stated on the same day that North Korea considers South Korea to be its “most hostile country,” and that the continued use of hostile rhetoric is detrimental to peace on the peninsula. Reports say that the Blue House expressed that the way to ensure stability and prosperity on the Korean Peninsula is not through hostility and confrontation, but through dialogue and cooperation to achieve peaceful coexistence. The South Korean government will, from a long-term perspective, consistently adhere to promoting the policy of peaceful coexistence on the Korean Peninsula. According to a report from the Korean Central News Agency on the 24th, Kim Jong-un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission, stated during his policy address at the first session of the 15th Supreme People’s Assembly on the 23rd that North Korea regards South Korea as the most hostile country and “completely rejects and ignores” South Korea with the clearest words and actions.
