Xinhua: AI Scientists, Product Architects, and Blockchain Engineers to Become High-Paying Jobs
On March 28, news emerged from Xinhua News Agency regarding the interpretation of the “14th Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development of the People’s Republic of China.” The article pointed out that the “Plan” serves as a policy document outlining China’s development blueprint for the next five years (2026-2030), deploying 109 major engineering projects.
The planning outline emphasizes the cultivation of various talents, including “increasing support and training for strategic scientists, leading technology talents, basic research personnel, and young scientific talents” and “nurturing outstanding engineers, skilled craftsmen, and high-skilled talents.”
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is highlighted as the top priority among the eight major engineering projects for “cutting-edge technology breakthroughs” in the next five years, with key development focuses including “developing high-performance AI chips and highly available foundational software stacks” and “accelerating innovation in model infrastructure exploration.”
The article specifically cites smart agriculture as an example, stating that it will create a number of new positions: in the fields, unmanned harvesters guided by navigators, agricultural drones operated by pilots, and sensors monitoring crop growth maintained by IoT engineers; after harvesting, cold chain logistics analysts will calculate the optimal path from farm to table, while quality traceability engineers will use blockchain technology to establish a “digital ID” for each batch of rice.
