Wuhan Yangtze River Grand Hotel Included in 2026 Urban Renewal Project, Will Launch Acquisition and Demolition
Insight Web News: Recently, the Housing and Urban Renewal Bureau of Qiaokou District, Wuhan City, released a housing expropriation survey announcement. The Changjiang Grand Hotel project has been included in the 2026 urban renewal plan. The survey period is from March 18 to April 1, 2026, marking the official start of the demolition process for this landmark building.
According to reports, the Changjiang Grand Hotel is located at the intersection of Jiefang Avenue and Youth Road. It was completed and began trial operation in 1987. It was Wuhan’s first Sino-Hong Kong joint venture hotel, with a registered capital of $7 million, and long served as a benchmark for high-end hotels in Wuhan. The project falls within the scope of the “Jun Yin Chang Jiu” urban renewal area, covering approximately 103.6 acres, with a total expropriation area of 135,400 square meters, involving about 698 households and 5 businesses.
This expropriation is a pilot project for the “Jun Yin Chang Jiu” area, with subsequent updates planned for areas such as Zhongwen Printing Factory and 7218 Community.
