A-share midday review: All three major indices fell more than 2% in the half-day session, nearly 5,000 stocks across the entire market declined, with gold, pork, and precious metals concepts weakening

March 23, the three major A-share indices all declined in the morning session. By midday, the Shanghai Composite Index fell 2.5%, the Shenzhen Component Index dropped 2.53%, and the ChiNext Index decreased 2.44%; the Beijing 50 Index declined 2.95%. The combined trading volume of the Shanghai and Shenzhen markets was approximately 14,595.98 billion yuan, an increase of about 155.43 million yuan compared to the previous trading day. At midday, 486 stocks in the market rose, while 4,977 stocks fell, including 36 stocks hitting the daily limit up and 22 hitting the daily limit down.

In terms of sectors, industries such as coal, industrial gases, lithium mining, coal mining and processing, energy metals, and petroleum and petrochemicals led the gains; sectors like non-ferrous metals, antimony, gold, pork industry, precious metals, publishing, and beauty care experienced the largest declines.
