Huachen BMW and BMW (China) Recall Certain Domestic and Imported BMW Vehicles
According to the website of the State Administration for Market Regulation, recently, Brilliance BMW Automotive Co., Ltd. and BMW (China) Automotive Trading Co., Ltd. filed recall plans with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the “Regulations on the Recall of Defective Automobile Products” and the “Measures for the Implementation of the Regulations on the Recall of Defective Automobile Products.”
1. Brilliance BMW Automotive Co., Ltd.
Recall number S2026M0032V: Starting from today, a total of 133,849 domestically produced 5 Series vehicles with manufacturing dates from December 5, 2023, to April 12, 2025, are being recalled.
2. BMW (China) Automotive Trading Co., Ltd.
Recall number S2026M0033V: Starting from today, a total of 8,978 imported 5 Series vehicles with manufacturing dates from October 17, 2023, to April 8, 2025, are being recalled; 36,527 imported 7 Series vehicles with manufacturing dates from June 9, 2022, to April 3, 2025; and 173 imported M5 vehicles with manufacturing dates from July 4, 2024, to April 2, 2025.
Vehicles within the scope of this recall may have improperly routed front cabin air conditioning wiring harnesses. During after-sales replacement of air filter elements, this may cause damage to the front cabin air conditioning wiring harness. In extreme cases, wiring short circuits could occur, posing a fire risk.
Brilliance BMW Automotive Co., Ltd. and BMW (China) Automotive Trading Co., Ltd. will conduct free inspections of the front cabin air conditioning wiring harnesses for vehicles within the recall scope and re-secure them. If damage is found, they will be replaced. Some vehicles have already been repaired previously, so these vehicles do not require additional repairs during this recall.
