According to mainland media reports, Alibaba’s (09988) research institution, DAMO Academy, officially announced the new flagship processor “Huangtian C950” at the 2026 Xuan Tie RISC-V Ecosystem Conference.

It is reported that the “Huangtian C950” adopts a 5-nanometer process, with a frequency of 3.2GHz. Its single-core performance has for the first time exceeded 70 points, and its overall performance has improved more than threefold compared to the previous generation Huangtian C920, setting a new global record for RISC-V CPU performance. It is suitable for cloud computing, generative AI, high-end robotics, edge computing, and other fields, reaching industry-leading levels of performance.

Utilizing the open-source characteristics of RISC-V, the “Huangtian C950” is equipped with a self-developed AI acceleration engine and natively supports large models like Qwen3 and DeepSeek V3 with hundreds of billions of parameters. It is expected to become a new high-end CPU in the AI agent era.

On the same day, a high-performance, energy-efficient processor “Huangtian C925” was also released

Additionally, DAMO Academy announced the new generation high-performance, energy-efficient processor “Huangtian C925,” with a SPECint2006 performance score exceeding 12/GHz, representing an 11% improvement in energy efficiency over the Huangtian C930. The “Huangtian C925” is mainly suitable for smart terminals, industrial control, consumer electronics, and other fields.

Alibaba DAMO Academy has released more than ten Huangtian CPUs, with nearly a thousand terminal products deployed, covering applications such as servers, robots, new energy vehicles, AI smart terminals, and storage controllers.
