Cisco (NASDAQ: CSCO) has introduced a new suite of security innovations designed to secure the emerging “agentic AI” workforce, where software agents perform actions rather than just answer questions. While a recent Cisco survey shows 85% of enterprises are experimenting with AI agents, only 5% have moved them into production, highlighting a gap in trust and security. Cisco’s new offerings include Zero Trust Access for AI agents, the AI Defense: Explorer Edition for self-service red teaming, the open-source DefenseClaw framework with NVIDIA OpenShell integration, and Splunk enhancements to accelerate detection and response for Security Operations Centers (SOCs).
