S&P Global Market Intelligence has released its 2025 rankings for the best-performing U.S. community banks, public banks, and credit unions, highlighting institutions that successfully balanced growth with risk management. Central Bancompany was named the top public bank, Northeast Bank led midsize community banks, American Interstate Bank topped small community banks, and Workmen’s Circle CU was the top credit union. The rankings assess returns, growth, funding, and balance-sheet strength, with regional winners also recognized across the Midwest, Northeast, Southeast, South Central, and West.
