Wu Shuo has learned that Ethereum core developer ladislaus.eth disclosed that the Ethereum All Core Devs (AllCoreDevs) meeting plans to decide this Thursday whether to include EIP-8141 (frame transactions) in the upcoming Hegota upgrade. This proposal is crucial for post-quantum (PQ) security of Ethereum's execution layer. Developers pointed out that implementing quantum-resistant attacks only at the consensus layer is incomplete. EIP-8141 aims to decouple accounts from fixed signature schemes, providing a native path for migration to quantum-resistant signature schemes. At the same time, it will make account abstraction a first-class protocol feature, freeing it from dependence on external contracts, and will support programmable gas payments using ERC-20 tokens.
