Deep Tide TechFlow News, March 23 — According to U.Today, the Bitcoin blockchain recently experienced a rare double reorganization (Reorg). Bitcoin researcher b10c revealed that mining pools Foundry USA, AntPool, and ViaBTC engaged in a multi-block competition.

The incident began at block height 941880, when the network briefly forked into two competing chains of equal length: AntPool mined block 941881 first, followed by ViaBTC mining block 941882 on the same chain; meanwhile, Foundry USA independently mined its own versions of blocks 941881 and 941882, creating two parallel chains. Ultimately, Foundry USA mined blocks 941883, 941884, and 941885, winning with the longer chain. The blocks mined by AntPool and ViaBTC were discarded by the network as “orphaned blocks.” Foundry USA successfully mined seven consecutive blocks from 941879 to 941885.

Single-block reorganizations occasionally occur on the Bitcoin network, but double reorganizations are rare, indicating that the parallel state of two competing chains persisted for an entire additional block cycle. This event is a normal operation of the decentralized consensus mechanism and not an attack or system failure.
