United Air Sees Risk of Surging Fuel Cost, Says Airline Is Ready

United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby has warned of the risk of $175 oil prices dramatically increasing jet-fuel costs, despite the current high demand for travel. The airline has already cut 5% of its capacity on unprofitable routes due to elevated fuel prices. Kirby assured staff that the company is strong enough to withstand a crisis and will not defer investments or furlough employees.
