Jia Tianyu
People’s Daily Online Chongqing, March 20 — (Liu Zhengning, Zhou Xiaoping) On March 19, the 2026 graduating class of Chongqing’s general higher education institutions participated in the “33618” Modern Manufacturing Spring Job Fair and the large-scale spring recruitment event for Chongqing University’s 2026 graduates, held at the Chongqing University Huxi Campus Sports Stadium. The event attracted over 500 employers, offering more than 20,000 job positions across all degree levels, from bachelor’s to doctoral, with more than 10,000 graduates from inside and outside the university attending to seek employment.

From the participating companies, this event featured high-level organizations and broad coverage. State-owned enterprises such as China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, China Nuclear Industry Group, China Aviation Industry Group, China State Construction Engineering Corporation, Aluminum Corporation of China, and China Communications Construction Company were all present. Additionally, global Fortune 500 companies and industry leaders like Huawei, Seres, Geely, and iFlytek actively participated. The Chongqing Digital Economy Talent Market and the Chongqing Liangjiang New Area organized top-quality employers to join, reflecting a clear focus on serving local economic development.
The on-site supply and demand matching was active, with positions related to intelligent manufacturing and digital economy becoming popular among job seekers. A recruitment manager from China Shipbuilding Technology Corporation stated that the company mainly produces power generation equipment. With the current strong demand for power grid upgrades, this year they are focusing on recruiting talents in new energy electrical engineering, offering 22 positions in mechanical, electrical, and structural fields. Candidates are expected to have solid professional knowledge, proficiency in relevant software, and the ability to quickly adapt to job requirements.

AI technology is penetrating manufacturing, creating innovative positions and offering new opportunities for graduates. Sun Fandi, a senior student majoring in Vehicle Engineering at Chongqing University’s School of Mechanical Engineering, discovered that some automakers have introduced “3D engine development” roles. “I’ve rarely encountered such positions before, and I can clearly feel that manufacturing innovation elements are increasing,” she said. She prefers companies with high platforms that can enhance her skills, aiming for a monthly salary of around 10,000 yuan, with a preference for coastal cities or Chongqing as work locations.
To improve the job-seeking experience, this event introduced intelligent services beyond traditional job matching. An “AI Smart Job Service Area” was set up on-site, offering resume optimization, interview simulation, and other smart tools to help students prepare for interviews in the best possible state. A career development consultation zone invited university experts and corporate mentors to provide one-on-one guidance, addressing questions about resume writing, interview skills, and career choices. A policy consultation area explained policies related to grassroots employment, enlistment, and recruitment exams, extending employment services from recent graduates to lower-year students, encouraging students to establish correct employment concepts early.
Before the event, organizers held online job live-streaming sessions to introduce positions and share industry trends, helping graduates understand market dynamics in advance. On the event day, a green channel was opened for campus entry, with dedicated shuttle buses to facilitate transportation and ensure smooth access. On-site, a “one-stop” service point was set up to provide policy consultation, contract signing, and other convenient services, ensuring the safety, order, and efficiency of the job fair.
A relevant official from Chongqing University stated that the school always prioritizes graduate employment, integrating the “Yukuai Jiu” brand into the development of the “33618” modern manufacturing cluster. Through visiting companies and expanding positions, the university continues to deepen cooperation with key organizations, providing targeted guidance to meet students’ diverse needs. Moving forward, the university will continue to optimize its employment service system, creating more pathways to key industries and regions, guiding more students to realize their life values while serving national strategies and local development.
