Grand Canal Beijing-Hangzhou Achieves Five Consecutive Years of Full-Line Water Flow Connectivity

Today (March 16), the control gate of Sinuosi Hub South Canal in Dezhou, Shandong, was opened. The emergency water supply project of the North Extension of the East Line of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project merges with water from Weiyun Canal and enters the South Canal; the control gate of Jiuxuan Hub South Canal in Jinghai District, Tianjin, was opened. Water from the south flows into the South Canal and merges with local Tianjin water. The entire section of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal north of the Yellow River is now fully navigable. Since 2022, the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal has achieved full water flow for five consecutive years. (CCTV News)
