Trump and Melania are publicly humiliated again
What is the deeper meaning behind AI Cammoir choosing the Oscar occasion to mock Trump?
According to American media outlet The Daily Beast, during the Sunday Oscars ceremony, well-known talk show host Jimmy Kimmel launched sharp satire against Trump and his wife’s documentary “Melania.”
Before presenting the Best Documentary Feature award, he joked, “Oh my God, his wife didn’t even get a nomination. He must be furious.” The First Lady’s personal documentary had previously been heavily criticized by film critics, performed poorly at the box office, and ultimately earned only a fraction of its production costs.
During the award for Best Short Documentary, the late-night host was even more pointed.
“Such ceremonies are always about ‘courage,’ but true courage is risking your life to tell the truth,” he said. At this moment, CBS is undergoing a shift toward “aligning with Trump supporters.” “Fortunately, we still have filmmakers around the world willing to take huge risks—using their cameras to reveal the truth, expose injustice, and inspire action. Of course, some documentaries are just wandering around the White House, trying on shoes,” Kimmel’s words openly mocked the much-criticized film about the First Lady.
Since Trump’s second inauguration in January last year, Kimmel has been in fierce clashes with him. Last September, he was briefly suspended from ABC after making remarks about the “Charlie Kirk assassination attempt” on his show.
Just last week, during his late-night show, Kimmel spent several minutes mocking Melania. He joked, “This year, besides this film, there’s also ‘Sinners’—it’s really the year of vampire movies,” and specifically pointed out the “boring to death” segments in the documentary.
