Odaily Planet Daily reports that a senior official on the ship revealed that over the past week, the Iranian Navy guided an Indian liquefied petroleum gas tanker through the Strait of Hormuz. After diplomatic mediation in New Delhi, the ship was able to pass along the pre-approved route. This seems to confirm analysts’ views that Tehran is attempting to implement traffic control in the strait, allowing friendly ships to pass safely while making others wary of attack. The official said that during the crossing, the ship maintained radio contact with the Iranian Navy.
