Rivian Rises, Uber Falls on Autonomous Taxi Deal Announcement

Rivian Automotive and Uber Technologies’ stock prices moved in opposite directions during midday trading.

As of 2:45 p.m. Eastern Time, Rivian was up over 1%, while Uber was down nearly 2%.

Earlier, the two companies announced that Uber plans to invest up to $1.25 billion in Rivian. As part of the agreement, the companies aim to deploy up to 50,000 autonomous taxis across multiple countries by 2031.
