** [Caixin]** Aircraft are the main players in the low-altitude economy. Testing and trial flight sites and airspace can be considered the industry’s “infrastructure” at the R&D stage.

On March 20, the country’s first “integrated road and air” national testing base—the Southern Test Site—was officially launched. The project is located in Xinfeng County, Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province, covering a total area of 8,600 acres. In terms of low-altitude aircraft testing, the Southern Test Site has built six straight-line taxiways and more than four vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) pads. Importantly, it has been approved for 100 square kilometers of airspace rights.

This means that test flights at the Southern Test Site do not require prior application for airspace, significantly simplifying the process and making flight arrangements more flexible.
