Vice Minister of Commerce and Deputy Head of International Trade Negotiations Ling Ji met with Omar Al-Futtaim, CEO of Al-Futtaim Group in the UAE, on March 21. Ling Ji stated that currently, the international situation is complex and turbulent, with unilateralism and protectionism intensifying. China’s economy, with its strong resilience and certainty, offers valuable development opportunities for global investors. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, China will adhere to innovation-driven development, develop new quality productivity according to local conditions, focus on emerging pillar industries and future industries, further stimulate consumer vitality, and provide vast growth space for the world through the Chinese market. He hopes that Al-Futtaim Group will seize the opportunities of China’s high-quality economic development and help achieve higher-level mutual benefit and win-win results in China-UAE economic and trade cooperation. Omar Al-Futtaim said that the current international situation is undergoing profound changes, highlighting that China is a trustworthy and reliable partner. Al-Futtaim Group is willing to establish long-term strategic cooperation with more Chinese enterprises and play a bridging role to promote higher levels of China-UAE economic and trade cooperation.
