** Caixin News ** On the morning of March 17, 2026, former Vice Chairman of the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission, Wang Zhaoxing, who had been out of the public eye for a long time, passed away in Beijing due to illness at the age of 67. This was about six and a half years after he stepped down in September 2019. It is reported that he had been in the ICU for over two years.
