【Iran/Trump/Strait of Hormuz/Middle East】U.S. President Donald Trump posted on social media platform Truth Social that the United States is very close to achieving its goals in the Iran conflict and is considering scaling back military actions. He called on countries using the Strait of Hormuz to escort and patrol the strait when necessary.

Call for Countries Using the Strait of Hormuz to Escort and Patrol When Necessary

Trump stated, “The Strait of Hormuz must be guarded and patrolled by other countries that use it when necessary — the U.S. will not do it”; if asked, the U.S. will assist these countries in operations in the Strait of Hormuz, but once the threat from Iran is eliminated, such assistance should no longer be necessary.

Foreign reports say that when asked whether Israel is prepared to end the war against Iran once the U.S. completes military actions, Trump replied, “I think so.”

He also said that ensuring the safety of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz requires substantial help, and it would be great if countries like China and Japan could participate.

Open to Dialogue but Not Interested in Ceasefire

Trump stated he does not want a ceasefire in the U.S.-Israel war against Iran; “Listen, we can have dialogue, but I don’t want a ceasefire. You know, when you’re completely destroying the other side, there is no ceasefire.”

Regarding the UK government authorizing the U.S. to use military bases in the UK on Friday to strike Iranian missile bases attacking ships in the Strait of Hormuz, Trump said the UK should provide quicker assistance when the U.S. takes military action against Iran.
