Expectations of rising airline fuel surcharges strengthen as consumers start stockpiling tickets in advance

Recently, many domestic airlines have repeatedly increased fuel surcharges on international routes, with increases generally over 50%, and some routes even doubling. Although the domestic market is still in the traditional off-season after the holiday, as the expectation of fuel price hikes continues to strengthen, many consumers are beginning to book travel tickets two weeks or even a month in advance to lock in relatively low travel costs.
