People’s Financial News, March 21 — On the afternoon of March 19, General Administration of Customs Director Sun Mei-jun met with Korean Customs Service Director Lee Myeong-gu and his delegation during their visit to China for the 20th China-Korea Customs Cooperation Meeting. They discussed implementing important consensus between the leaders of China and Korea, deepening customs cooperation between the two countries, and jointly promoting trade security and facilitation in China, Korea, and the Asia-Pacific region. They also signed three customs cooperation documents. After the meeting, Zhang Baofeng and Lee Myeong-gu jointly presided over the 20th China-Korea Customs Cooperation Meeting. The two sides exchanged in-depth views on strengthening the “Smart Customs” partnership, deepening electronic origin certification, risk management, customs statistics, intellectual property protection, mutual recognition of Authorized Economic Operators (AEO), cross-border cooperation, and anti-smuggling law enforcement, reaching broad consensus on cooperation.
