People’s Financial News, March 19 — According to the National Energy Administration, the 71st APEC Energy Working Group Meeting was successfully held in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, from March 18 to 19. This is the first mechanism-based energy meeting held during China’s third hosting of the APEC summit. The meeting focused on the theme of “Building an Asia-Pacific Community of Shared Future and Promoting Common Prosperity” for the 2026 APEC China Year, and proposed the energy theme of “Building an Inclusive, Innovative, and Collaborative Asia-Pacific Energy Community.” Representatives from various economies discussed in depth the implementation of existing initiatives and the design of outcomes for the 2026 APEC China Year around three priority areas: “Universal High-Quality Energy Services,” “Artificial Intelligence + Energy,” and “Asia-Pacific Energy Collaboration and Co-Governance.” They exchanged candid opinions to lay a solid foundation for reaching consensus and achieving results in the energy sector for the 2026 APEC China Year.
