The International Energy Agency (IEA) announced on Thursday that the first batch of oil from member countries’ reserves has begun to be released into the market in response to disruptions in the Middle East situation.

Member countries have contributed 426 million barrels of oil.

This emergency release primarily involves crude oil.

In Europe, the released oil will mainly be provided in the form of refined petroleum products.

The IEA stated that Japan, Canada, and South Korea will be the main contributors to this large-scale emergency oil reserve release.

The IEA also said that the Middle East conflict is causing the largest supply disruptions in the history of the global oil market.
