Another mid-level manager of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China voluntarily surrenders to authorities
“Bank of China’s Internal Audit Bureau Tianjin Branch Deputy Director Chen Bing is suspected of serious violations of discipline and law, and has voluntarily surrendered. In January of this year, the former Director of the Bank of China’s Nanjing Internal Audit Branch, Guo Wei, was publicly announced to be under investigation.”
On March 20, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) website released news that Chen Bing, Deputy Director of the Bank of China’s Internal Audit Bureau Tianjin Branch, is suspected of serious violations of discipline and law, has voluntarily surrendered, and is currently under disciplinary review by the CCDI and the National Supervisory Commission’s discipline inspection team stationed at the Bank of China, as well as under supervisory investigation by the Tianjin Municipal Supervisory Commission.
Chen Bing’s most recent appearance in public reports was five months ago. According to information from the Tianjin Municipal Audit Bureau at the end of September 2025, several personnel from the Bank of China’s Internal Audit Bureau Tianjin Branch, including Chen Bing, participated in exchange discussions with the Tianjin Municipal Audit Bureau.
Chen Bing has worked at the Bank of China for over 20 years. His early career was in Qingdao, Shandong, starting from frontline positions and gradually being promoted to assistant manager and deputy manager of the Qingdao Branch of the Bank of China. Later, Chen Bing was transferred to serve as vice president of the Shandong Provincial Branch of the Bank of China. Subsequently, he was transferred across provinces to become vice president of the Henan Provincial Branch of the Bank of China. In April 2025, Chen Bing was appointed Deputy Director of the Bank of China’s Tianjin Internal Audit Branch.
In January this year, the former Director of the Nanjing Internal Audit Branch of the Bank of China, Guo Wei, was publicly announced to be under investigation. Guo Wei previously served as branch manager of the Yunnan and Hubei branches. In 2023, Guo Wei left Hubei to take up the position of director of the Nanjing Internal Audit Branch of the Bank of China, and retired in 2024 upon reaching retirement age.
