Key rare earth metals demand is expected to receive long-term support, rare earth metals ETF Harvest (562800) sentiment is climbing
March 16, 10:02 AM, the CS Rare Metals Index fell 3.03%. Regarding popular ETFs, the China Asset Management Rare Metals ETF (562800) has a current trading volume of 196 million yuan, with a turnover rate of 2.18%.
On the news front, on March 16, it was announced that USA Rare Earth, a rare earths company listed in the U.S. stock market, was selected as a raw material supplier for the U.S. Department of Energy’s “Mineral to Material Supply Chain Research Facility Alliance.” On March 10, it was reported that Indonesia’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources is still evaluating the nickel production reduction policy in its 2026 work plan and budget, with an adjusted plan expected to be submitted in June or July. The global demand for energy security continues to rise, with many countries promoting renewable energy industries through subsidies, tax incentives, and other policies, which is expected to provide long-term support for key rare metals.
Guojin Securities research reports indicate that the market’s contradiction lies in asset prices outpacing fundamentals. A-shares will face overall valuation digestion pressure in the near future, with limited downside at the index level, but structural differentiation remains the key to future market solutions. Stocks representing Chinese resources and manufacturing have the best allocation value amid global turbulence. Priority is given to physical assets with strategic resource value, such as crude oil, shipping, copper, aluminum, and rare earths.
CMB International Securities states that in the medium to long term, policies against “involution” will continue to strengthen, U.S.-China demand may resonate, and the return of the “shadow anchor” of gold may accelerate PPI to turn positive. It recommends paying attention to segments with sustained price increases, such as power equipment, crude oil, chemicals, and precious metals.
The China Asset Management Rare Metals ETF (562800) closely tracks the CS Rare Metals Index (930632.CSI). The CSI Rare Metals Theme Index selects no more than 50 listed companies involved in rare metal mining, smelting, and processing as index samples to reflect the overall performance of listed companies in the rare metals sector. The ETF is connected to over-the-counter funds (014110, 014111).
