Middle East Conflict | UK Allows US to Use Military Bases Within Its Territory to Strike Iran; Tehran Claims It Will Exercise Right to Self-Defense

The UK government authorized the United States on Friday to use military bases within the UK to strike Iranian missile bases involved in attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian responded, stating that Iran will exercise its right to self-defense in response.

Abdollahian posted on social media that the vast majority of the British public does not want to be involved in this “selective war” launched by Israel and the United States against Iran. He pointed out that UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is ignoring domestic public opinion by allowing UK military bases to be used for aggression against Iran, which is putting the British people at risk, and emphasized that Iran will exercise its right to self-defense.
