JUST IN: Google has introduced a new mechanism for Android users to install apps from outside the Play Store without completely disabling its fraud protections.


The change comes after the settlement of its antitrust dispute over its ecosystem and combines greater user freedom with a deliberately slower process that is more difficult for fraudsters to manipulate.
