Ministry of Commerce: China's sales of embodied intelligent robots increased by 13% year-on-year in January-February

People Finance News, March 19 – A responsible official from the Department of Consumer Promotion under the Ministry of Commerce discussed China's consumer market situation for January-February 2026: demand for smart and green products is robust. The trade-in policy for consumer goods has shown significant driving effects on smart and green products, with communication equipment, cultural and office supplies, and household appliances retail sales increasing 17.8%, 5.8%, and 3.3% respectively. Commercial big data from the Ministry of Commerce shows that sales of smart glasses on key platforms increased 1.8 times, embodied AI robots increased 13%, and Level 1 energy efficiency refrigerators increased 8.1%.
