Abstract generation in progress

RTX is developing a hybrid-electric propulsion system for regional aircraft, aiming for a 30% improvement in fuel efficiency. The system combines a Pratt & Whitney thermal engine with a Collins Aerospace electric motor and an H55 battery system, with the electric motor assisting during high-power phases of flight. The project addresses challenges like weight and high voltage management in electric aviation and is currently undergoing ground testing, with flight tests planned for the future.
