People’s Financial News, March 19 — On March 19, Li Lecheng, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, presided over the 14th SME Roundtable Meeting. The focus was on vigorously cultivating and developing small and medium-sized enterprises in the new materials sector and enhancing innovation and development levels in new materials. The meeting included reports from enterprises and suggestions. Li Lecheng emphasized that entrepreneurs should cultivate a strong sense of patriotism, actively integrate enterprise development into national strategies, and accelerate the development of the new materials industry around the manufacturing sector. They should target urgently needed key materials and weak links in the industrial chain, take on responsibilities bravely, and improve the自主保障水平 of key materials in critical fields. Innovation-led development should be strengthened, with continuous increases in R&D investment, active participation in major national science and technology projects, and efforts to lead technological breakthroughs. The goal is to produce more landmark original成果. Forward-looking planning should be enhanced, closely monitoring international technological advances, grasping the trends of new materials transformation, and exploring applications of artificial intelligence in material研发, pilot testing, and production scenarios. This will accelerate the creation and application of cutting-edge new materials and build new competitive advantages.
