Rare Gathering: Jack Ma and Alibaba and Ant Core Management Team Appear at Hangzhou Yungu School
Tech Home March 4 News, according to the “Science and Technology Innovation Board Daily” report last night, on March 3, Jack Ma, Alibaba Group Chairman Cai Chongxin, CEO Wu Yongming, Risk Committee Chairman Shao Xiaofeng, E-commerce Business Group CEO Jiang Fan, as well as Ant Group Chairman Jing Xiandong and CEO Han Xinyi, appeared together at Hangzhou Yun Gu School.
Note from Tech Home: Yun Gu School is a private school invested and founded by Alibaba partners. It is a 15-year school covering kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high school divisions, with a board of seven partners representing the school’s governance. Its main campus is located in the “Yun Gu” area of San Dun Town, Xihu District, Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, with a total investment of over 1.4 billion yuan and a construction land area of 220 acres.
During the exchange, Jack Ma stated that the AI era has arrived rapidly, and its impact on society exceeds expectations. None of us are fully prepared, but for teenagers, they have the greatest hope and opportunity to change. The purpose of visiting Yun Gu School this time is to share Alibaba’s increasingly clear insights on AI with teachers.
“We all came to Yun Gu to tell everyone that this change will come very quickly, and we need to adapt swiftly, helping children learn to coexist with AI from now on and to adapt to this huge change.”
Focusing on core skills for the AI era, Alibaba and Ant management shared their views one by one.
Cai Chongxin suggested that critical thinking is the core literacy in the human-AI collaboration era. Its core is not just “asking questions,” but asking effective questions. He believes that future human-AI collaboration and interpersonal communication will become key competitive advantages.
Wu Yongming believes that what distinguishes humans from AI are curiosity, empathy, and physical vitality: machines passively execute tasks, while humans actively explore out of curiosity; empathy is a fundamental ability to understand others; as mental work is heavily replaced by AI, the value of physical and athletic skills will significantly increase.
Jing Xiandong stated that AI should undertake repetitive mechanical labor, freeing up human time for aesthetic, creative, and imaginative development, while also insisting on independent thinking to avoid over-reliance on technology.
In Ma Yun’s view, under the impact of AI, education is experiencing an opportunity to return to its essence. The time spent on rote memorization and mechanical practice can be greatly freed up, shifting instead toward cultivating creativity and imagination, giving children more time to experience art, sports, and collaboration.
