Warsaw: Poland announced Friday the withdrawal of its troops from Iraq due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz wrote on the X platform, “Given the deteriorating security situation in the Middle East region, and after analysing the operational conditions and potential threats, a decision has been made to relocate the Polish military unit from Iraq.”

Security sources in Iraq had previously announced the commencement of the NATO mission’s evacuation of its base and withdrawal from Iraq, adding that “the NATO personnel present in Iraq constitute a non-combat mission, whose role is training and advisory, and they will return as soon as the war ends and the security situation in Iraq stabilises.”
