China Power Construction Once Again Announces Major Contract Signing
On the evening of March 13, China Power Construction (601669) announced that recently, its subsidiary China Power Construction Indonesia Ltd. and Indonesia’s Tataran Mediasa Ranna Ltd. signed a comprehensive construction contract for the Indonesia TMS Nickel Mine Extraction Project, with a contract value of approximately 5.456 billion RMB. The main scope of work includes open-pit mining, mineral processing, transportation, stockpiling, and shipping operations, as well as the construction of supporting temporary facilities and maintenance of mine area roads. The project contract duration is 60 months.
From the secondary market perspective, today’s new energy concept stocks surged collectively. China Power Construction opened high and continued to rise, with intra-day fluctuations pushing it to hit the daily limit, closing at 7.19 RMB per share.
It is worth noting that since the beginning of this year, China Power Construction has issued multiple announcements regarding the signing of major contracts.
On the evening of March 12, China Power Construction announced that recently, its Abu Dhabi branch and its subsidiary China Power Construction Group East China Survey, Design, and Research Institute Co., Ltd. formed a joint venture with Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company to sign an EPC contract for the UAE Abu Dhabi RTC 2.1GW + 7.75GWh solar and energy storage project, with a contract value of approximately 13.962 billion RMB.
The project is located in the Mshayrif area of Abu Dhabi, UAE. The photovoltaic component has a total installed capacity of 2.1GWp on the DC side, and the energy storage component has a capacity of 7.75GWh. The specific scope of work includes design, procurement, and construction of civil works (including the booster station building and structures), photovoltaic field area, and energy storage area. The total project duration is NTP (Notice to Proceed) + 21 months, with a warranty period of 24 months.
On March 11, China Power Construction announced that recently, China Power Construction Corporation and its subsidiary China Power Construction Municipal Construction Group Co., Ltd., and China Power Construction Group Chengdu Survey, Design, and Research Institute Co., Ltd. formed a joint venture with Montenegro Road Limited Liability Company to sign a design and construction EPC contract for the Montenegro Matscherevo-Andrijevica Expressway project, with a contract value of approximately 5.636 billion RMB. The project duration is 60 months, with a warranty period of 24 months. The same day, the company announced that from January to February 2026, it signed a total of 1,218 new projects with a combined contract value of 147.893 billion RMB, a year-on-year decrease of 23.29%.
On January 14, China Power Construction announced that its subsidiary China Power Construction Group International Engineering Co., Ltd. signed a contract with the Basra Provincial Government for the Basra Desalination Project in Iraq, with a contract value of approximately 17.193 billion RMB. The project duration includes a 6-month limited start-up period and a 1,350-day main construction period, with a 24-month defect liability period.
On January 13, China Power Construction announced that its subsidiary China Hydropower Construction Group International Engineering Co., Ltd. and Nur Balashak Zazil Ltd. signed an EPC contract for Phase I (East Zone) of the Nur Balashak Zazil Multi-Functional Rehabilitation Center Construction Project in Kazakhstan, with a contract value of about 6.873 billion RMB. The project duration is approximately 60 months.
Additionally, its subsidiary China Power Construction Group International Engineering Co., Ltd. and China Power Construction (Laos) Co., Ltd. signed an EPC contract for the 770MW Balle Hydropower Station Project in Laos, with a contract value of approximately 8.716 billion RMB. The project duration is about 84 months.
