WeRide, a Chinese autonomous driving technology company, is expanding its global presence by entering the Slovakian market, making it its fourth European market and 12th country overall. The company has partnered with Elevate Slovakia to launch a national-level commercial autonomous driving project, deploying various products including robotaxis and Robobuses for passenger transport, parcel delivery, and municipal services. Road tests are scheduled to begin in Bratislava in the first half of 2026, with plans for nationwide expansion. WeRide, which surpassed 1,000 operational robotaxis in January, aims to have tens of thousands globally by 2030, and was listed on Nasdaq in October 2024 and HKEX in November 2025.
