The Cyberspace Administration of China announced that it has completed the filing process for 796 generative artificial intelligence products. Providers offering opinion-related services can file with local internet regulatory authorities, and applications that are already online must publicly display their filing information.

Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, March 17 — According to the National Cyberspace Administration of China, on March 17, it was announced that to promote innovative development and standardized application of generative artificial intelligence services, the cyberspace authorities, in collaboration with relevant departments, are continuously conducting filing work for generative AI services in accordance with the “Interim Measures for the Administration of Generative Artificial Intelligence Services.” As of February 28 this year, a total of 796 generative AI services have been filed.

It is understood that generative AI services that have opinion-forming attributes or social mobilization capabilities can complete filing or registration procedures through the local cyberspace authorities. For generative AI applications or features that are already online, the usage of filed or registered generative AI services should be publicly displayed in prominent positions or on product detail pages, indicating the model name, filing number, or online registration number.
