Beijing Daily News (Reporter Chen Lin) — On March 18, Vice Minister of Science and Technology Lin Xin announced at the State Council Information Office press conference that, approved by the State Council, the 2026 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Conference, themed “Deep Integration of Scientific and Industrial Innovation,” will be held in Beijing from March 25 to 29. It is expected that over a thousand guests from more than 100 countries and regions will attend.

Since its founding in 2007, the Zhongguancun Forum has maintained the theme of “Innovation and Development” and has become a national-level platform for global scientific and technological innovation exchange and cooperation. Lin Xin introduced that this forum will feature five main sections: forum meetings, achievement releases, technology transactions, frontier competitions, and supporting activities, with over 100 events in total, highlighting four key features.

Expanding the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Innovation Collaboration. Focusing on the construction of the Beijing (Tianjin-Hebei) International Innovation Center, this year’s forum will strengthen coordination among the three regions. They will jointly hold forums on collaborative innovation and high-quality development, technology transaction matchmaking events, and release policies to deepen cooperation on “six key industrial chains and five industrial clusters,” promoting innovation synergy and industrial collaboration.

Bidirectional Advancement of Frontier Technologies and Industries. Centered on cutting-edge fields such as 6G, brain-computer interfaces, and cell and gene therapy, the forum will host multiple specialized seminars to explore pathways for integrating technological innovation with industrial applications. Additionally, frontier technology competitions and technology transaction conferences will be held to facilitate the transformation of scientific achievements.

Integrated Development of Education, Technology, and Talent. The forum will gather renowned universities, research institutes, leading enterprises, outstanding engineers, and young scientific talents from home and abroad to discuss new models for technological development and talent cultivation, aiming to energize innovative human resources.

Adding to “Beijing Initiative” for Open Cooperation. In line with bilateral and multilateral international cooperation frameworks, the forum will host several thematic exchange activities. Notably, to promote the concept of open science, the forum will release the “International Cooperation Action Plan for Open Science,” further advancing the open sharing of global scientific resources.
