A coalition of 64 agricultural groups, including the National Corn Growers Association, has sent a letter to the CEOs of Mosaic Company and J.R. Simplot. They are urging the companies to support the removal of duties on imported phosphate products from Morocco, citing increased U.S. fertilizer prices exacerbated by the Middle East conflict. The groups argue that these duties, initially imposed in 2020 at Mosaic’s behest, are now harming U.S. agricultural and national security by limiting farmers’ access to critical fertilizers.
