Asia Cleaning Services Limited is suspected of violating the local recruitment regulations under the “Labor Optimization Program” and has been administratively sanctioned by the Labour Department. Starting from this Tuesday (17th), the company will be refused processing of any new labor import applications for the next two years and all submitted applications have been suspended.

A Labour Department spokesperson stated that earlier complaints prompted an investigation, which confirmed that during the local recruitment period, the company failed to offer all relevant job vacancies that had passed the initial screening by the Labour Department to one qualified job seeker. These vacancies involved different work locations, and the failure to offer these positions resulted in the job seeker declining the offer, which is equivalent to rejecting a qualified applicant. As a result, administrative sanctions were imposed.

The spokesperson emphasized that employers must strictly adhere to the regulations of the Optimization Program, including giving priority to hiring suitable local workers.
