Memory Super Cycle or Hard to Sustain? Samsung Expects: DRAM Shortage May End Before 2028

The AI boom has pushed the memory chip industry into a rare boom cycle, but two major giants are actively slowing down. Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix are taking a more cautious approach to DRAM expansion plans. According to South Korean media, Samsung internally expects the current storage shortage to ease around 2028 and is adjusting its investment pace accordingly to avoid repeating the mistakes of overexpansion. Meanwhile, SK Hynix has also publicly stated multiple times that it will base its expansion on actual demand rather than optimistic expectations.
