A-Share Movers | BASF Announces Price Increase, Some Chemical Stocks Strengthen, Xinghua Shares Hit Daily Limit Up
Gelonghui March 19 | Some chemical stocks in the A-share market rose, including Xinghua Shares hitting the daily limit, Guofa Shares rising over 3%, XinAo Shares, Guanghui Energy, Donghua Energy, Dawi Technology, and Victory Shares increasing over 2%.
On the news front, the world’s largest chemical giant BASF announced that starting March 18, it will raise the prices of all household care, industrial, institutional cleaning, and industrial formulation products in Europe by 30% or more. This move is mainly to address significant fluctuations in key raw material prices and supply, rising domestic and cross-continental logistics costs, as well as soaring packaging and energy costs.
BASF also announced that, effective immediately or as permitted under existing contracts, it will increase its sales prices of formic acid in Europe by 250 euros per ton; and will raise the price of neopentyl glycol by 350 euros per ton.
