Sri Lanka’s stock market index has plummeted to its lowest level since September of last year. The Colombo Composite Index has declined for the fourth consecutive trading day, with a drop of up to 4.6%.

The Sri Lankan rupee has weakened for the third consecutive day; the US dollar has appreciated by 0.1% against the Sri Lankan rupee, reaching 311.15.
