The Enbridge Straits Maritime Operations Center (ESMOC) has reached a significant safety milestone, recording its 10,000th vessel observation in the Straits of Mackinac since April 2022. This round-the-clock operation actively monitors vessels to prevent anchor strikes on the Line 5 dual pipelines, ensuring the safe transport of energy to Michiganders. The Algoma Niagara was the 10,000th vessel contacted by ESMOC, and both Enbridge and Algoma Central Corporation commended the achievement as a testament to their shared commitment to waterway safety.
