People’s Financial News, March 19 — U.S. Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines stated on the 18th that after the U.S. bombed Iran’s nuclear facilities in June last year, Iran has not attempted to rebuild its uranium enrichment capabilities. She declined to comment on whether Iran’s nuclear program poses an “imminent threat” to the United States. Haines attended the annual hearing of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence on “Global Security Threats” held that day. In her written statement posted on the committee’s website, she wrote that the U.S. has destroyed Iran’s uranium enrichment projects, and Iran has not tried to rebuild its enrichment capabilities since then. A report by NBC News pointed out that this appears to contradict the White House’s reasoning for going to war with Iran. (Xinhua News Agency)
