The second day of the Global Talent Summit and the International Talent Forum at the Wan Chai Convention and Exhibition Centre is underway. Labour and Welfare Secretary Sun Yuk Han delivered a speech, stating that Hong Kong has a unique advantage in connecting global talent with Mainland China. During the 14th Five-Year Plan, Hong Kong will further align with national development strategies and strengthen cross-sector collaboration.

Sun Yuk Han said that enhancing collaboration within the Greater Bay Area is not only an economic goal but also an important talent development strategy. By promoting talent mobility, encouraging cooperation, and leveraging complementary strengths, opportunities can be shared, regional competitiveness improved, and one-stop support services provided to help talents settle and integrate into Hong Kong communities. The goal is to create a vibrant talent ecosystem where talents are valued, supported, and motivated to contribute long-term.

She also mentioned that this forum demonstrates Hong Kong’s commitment to turning talent strategies into action, contributing to the country’s high-quality development. At the same time, efforts are being made to cultivate local talent, strengthen vocational training and skills enhancement, and attract external talent in a complementary manner.
